A Kappe house is glass and timber held up by engineered beams, and when those fail the whole house is at risk. On this one I replaced the glued-laminated beams, the wood siding and the glass panels, and re-engineered and rebuilt the framing structure that carries the glass.
This is also the project that shaped how I work with owners afterward. Once a house like this is put right, I keep looking after it: checking the systems, catching leaks and dry rot early, and scheduling the other trades, so the house stays ready for its owners.
